International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS)
ILADS is a non-profit, international, multi-disciplinary medical society dedicated to the appropriate diagnosis and treatment of Lyme and associated diseases.
ILADS promotes understanding of Lyme and associated diseases through research, education and policy. It strongly supports physicians, scientists, researchers and other healthcare professionals dedicated to advancing the standard of care and support for patients and their families.
ILADS has the following strategic goals which absolutely mirror the ethos and purpose of the Lyme Disease Clinic:
- To improve physician and healthcare provider understanding of Lyme and associated diseases
- To review, develop and implement clinical research programmes that enhance the management of Lyme and associated diseases
- To advance the standards of care for Lyme and associated diseases
- To review, develop and implement programmes, including educational materials and protocols, to support healthcare providers in treating Lyme and associated diseases
ILADS structure is a membership structure and it runs annual events across the world to give practitioners a strong platform from which to speak and take positive action in the mission to defeat Lyme disease. This collaboration is fundamentally important in the fight to diagnose and treat Lyme disease and its co-infections successfully.
Dr Joshua Berkowitz and Dr Carsten Nicolaus are both active members of ILADS and see it as an integral part of their roles as medical doctors to be involved and participating with this esteemed group of Lyme experts.Visit the ILADS website
