Having grown up in Zimbabwe and spent many years living and working in Africa, Dr Berkowitz knew only too well the detrimental effects tick-borne diseases can have on a person’s health.
Recognising that here in the UK there was a rapid increase in tick-borne diseases, yet little knowledge, acceptance or expertise on how to treat Lyme disease and its co-infections, his interest in becoming involved in the Lyme world led him to meeting Dr Carsten Nicolaus, Medical Director and Founder of the BCA clinic, lab and research facility (Augsburg, Germany) specialising Dr Berkowitz went on to train in the BCA method of diagnosis and treatment protocols for tick-borne diseases and founded his Lyme Disease Clinic in 2017 which treats patients from all over the UK and mainland Europe.
Dr Berkowitz and his team continue to receive the support, mentorship and training from Dr Nicolaus and the BCA team including access to the latest Lyme testing methods, clinical trial data, treatment protocols, and the integration of new diagnostic tools that further enhance patient diagnosis and care.
Dr Berkowitz regularly attends international conferences and collaborates with other specialists worldwide in the pursuit of the best and most successful patient outcomes. He has spoken at conferences including funding and hosting the London Lyme Conference in 2017 and 2019.
