We currently work with two key laboratories in the USA and Germany who run some of the most sensitive and reliable diagnostic Lyme tests in the world. These tests have been developed by leading tick-borne disease scientists and validated in the lab by a qualified lab director.
The difference between our tests and others, is that we are using the most advanced and sensitive tests available – including the i-spot. These tests can often be a little more expensive than our competitors, but they are the ones we rely on to help our doctors and our patients because they are the most accurate and sophisticated tests currently available worldwide.
The i-spot testing method in particular uses a specific machine that few laboratories in the world have access to and we are privileged to be working with these world-renowned laboratories to help us with our patient diagnostics.
Whilst we do accept some blood test results from other labs (no older than 3 months), we do recommend you have your blood tests done via our clinic and approved laboratories, under the guidance of our Lyme team who can select the best tests for you. This ensures that you are only getting the tests you need, and that they are the best available.
It is important that once you have your blood tests done with us, that you continue having them done via the same lab and repeating the same series of tests. This is to ensure we have an accurate comparison of blood tests results as you progress through your treatment enabling us to see incremental improvements in your bloodwork.
As we’ve previously mentioned, each lab uses different tests and methodologies and to varying quality levels. Therefore, changing laboratories is not recommended as it then becomes difficult to compare your test results and ascertain improvements in your disease.
We have listed some of the tests we do below, but please note that there are hundreds of different tests that we can perform via our laboratories, and therefore it is our Lyme doctors who will recommend the best series of tests for you once they have assessed your case.
What diagnostic testing do we do?
We test a variety of bacteria strains and viruses under these main categories:
Please note this is not an exhaustive list and our Lyme team will recommend the best tests for you once you have had your first appointment.
